Love Lust and Enlightenment in the age of "Trump-ism:" How not to become the monster as we fight the monster

Love, Lust & Enlightenment in the Age of “Trump-ism”
How we can become enlightened to the moment, to love, to ongoing happiness, and live lives of expanding love, communication, sex and anti-aging
in order to better
Resist the Monster without Becoming the Monster
This is a book for those who want fabulous love at the center of their life. Now that Trump is President, this is more important than ever.
In Germany in the 1930’s, one way to avoid the reality of Hitler was to sing and dance and drink and screw: life is a Cabaret my friend.
Another approach was to get deeply into the mystical life. The world is too messy, and only blissful union with God or the One or the Great Tantric Orgasm can fulfill our souls.
And those approaches could be tempting now.
As can the temptation to become the monster, full of anger and name calling and automatic degrading of others that is the trump card of the way of Trump-ism.
I say Trump-ism, because although the man is an emblem of much of what is worst in humanity, he is a robot being run by that. He has no awareness, so he has no chasing power. He can only hate. He can only vilify. He can only be obsessed with lying to maintain his narcissism.
He has no choice.
As decent humans who don’t want minorities and women and refuges abused, and don’t want the press punished for being honest, and who want to create a culture that works to solve the climate change dilemma so that the human species doesn’t extinct itself, we need to fight the monster.
The monster of “Trump-ism,” which really doesn’t need to be defined. Each of you feel what is evil and anti-American and amoral out there.
And the secret, well more than the secret, the necessity is to NOT become the angry, asleep, knee jerk, inhuman monster we are opposing.

Taking walks in Nature, doing yoga, taking care of your kids and grandkids with presence and kindness are all ways, of course, to stay true to our real selves, to nourish ourselves for occasional battle with the monster.

Even more important seem to be “I don’t know” groups, who come together in love and confusion to map ways of mutual love and support and resistance.
And this points to enlightenment.
Enlightenment is being present, which allows us to find the new instead of the old dreary programs we’ve taken on so far. (One thing this election made clear: the old liberal model has failed.)
Enlightenment is also being continuously happy.
Enlightenment is being happy in the “I don’t know.”

So much of unhappiness is to be lost in being “right,” which is almost a program of words in our head. Much more on that later, when we dive into forgiveness as living free from the burden of going over and over and over in our heads with some story of how “We was wronged.”
And we’ll discover the joy of being out of our heads, to be grounded in our bodies, in the legs and pelvis and arms and ribs and breathing. To be seeing what the light is bringing in and the ears are hearing right now.

In face, let’s do that….let’s come to real presence in our bodies.
As one smart Chinese monastery apparently has a sign announcing: No Body = Nobody.

If we want to love better, the path to real presence with another is to come to now.
If we want fabulous sex, the only way this will happen is to be in the wonderful gift of a human body.
If we want to grow younger and easier and more graceful and smart in our movement, we need to start with body awareness and then add variation and real, not book, learning.
If we want a life of peace and harmony in all situations, happiness in all situations, increasing health in our lives: to be in our bodies, NOW, is an absolute necessity.

And delight.

Don’t believe me?
Good. This isn’t about belief. This is about experience.

Come to your body now.

Start with the bottom third. The part from two inches below your navel and halfway from the front and back.
This is the “real” geographical center of ourselves.
Called the Hara or the Tantien by some, we’ll such call it the Center.

Start with the bottom third, which is really the bottom half.
We’ll call this the BOTTOM.

Sense two areas in the BOTTOM.
One: sense as much of both legs and both feet and all your toes as you can.
Sense the shape you have them in.
Sense how they are pressing down into the floor and whatever is below you.

Two: Sense your pelvis.
if you are sitting, sense its relationship to gravity. What is is pressing into.
If you are standing, notice it as the transmission area between your legs and your spine.

Smile.
This is your body.
This is your now.

Take a deep breath.
Where do you feel that.

Notice two areas of the MIDDLE, which is above your navel and below your head.
For starters:
One: feel something moving in your chest or ribs or belly as you breathe in and out.

Two: sense the two arms and hands and fingers.

There is more in the middle, and just to have two areas of awareness there is huge.

Enjoy all this at once:

Legs and pelvis.
Breathing and arms.

Smile.

Notice three things above the neck:

One: Light coming in your eyes.
Two: Sound coming in your ears.
Three: Whether or not you are smiling.

See if you can do it all:

Legs and pelvis.
Breathing and arms.
Eyes, ears and smile.

It’a lot.

And can you experience how this is “being present” in a real and concrete way that you can do anywhere and anytime.

This is the start to fighting the monster without becoming the monster.
Real presence.

Good luck
Good journey
Great return to the real you that you lived in and loved as a child

Cheers
Chris

Awareness in the raw and wonderful now below the waist and in the middle and at the top

Magic Carpet #2:
SENSING 3 LAYERS OF YOU IN THE
NOW

GAME #2.1 Noticing and getting to know our three layers.
Go to a window, or outdoor.
If you can, take off your shoes, or your shoes and socks.
Feel the three layers:

BOTTOM: Your feet and toes and legs.
Your pelvis and hips.

MIDDLE:
Your ribs and belly.
The breath coming in.
The breath going out.
The breath moving your ribs and lungs and belly.
Your back and spine.
Your neck.
Your arms and shoulders and hands and fingers.

TOP:
Your eyes that see.
Your ears the hear.
Your tongue that talks (and other grand stuff)
Your mouth and/or nose that breaths in.
Your head that balances on top of your spine.
Your smile or not smile on your mouth/ face.

This is you.
Life is usually up above the neck, and not in awareness of our smile or what we are seeing and hearing in the moment, but in the words in our head.
And the world is big and your body is full.
You have three layers:

Below the navel. The bottom layer. Your pelvis for movement and sitting and sexing.
Your feet and legs and toes for standing and running and walking and dancing and skiing and skating and all sorts of fun.

Below the neck, and above the navel.
This is where we move, sometimes easily, sometimes stiffly. This is where we breathe. This is often where we feel our emotional “feelings.”
This is where our arms come out and reach and caress and explore and change the world. Arms and hands and fingers, and the arms end near the body in the “shoulders,” which are the upper arm bone attaching to the shoulder blades, which float on the ribs.
To sense the miracle of arms and fingers and shoulder blades is a wonderful gift to ourselves, and almost always forgotten in the horribly small world of texting and moving a mouse around in cyber space.
Which is lost to reality.

What is your reality right now?
Sense your pelvis and feet.
Good.
Sense your hands and breathing.
Good.
Sense your smile/ or not smile and feel your head as an actual body part floating up on your spine.

Wake the fuck up.
In both senses.
We are asleep to reality.
Wake up to that.

Our sex is usual abysmal thrashing around, and we can’t find a partner in love and we aren’t present in either talk or touch or sex, and it can all start to turn around.
When.
Now.

Now?
Yes, now.
As you read this book, here’s
SUPER GAME #2.2
AS YOU READ THE REST OF THIS BOOK
SENSE THE BOTTOM LAYER, AT LEAST FEET AND PELVIS
SENSE THE MIDDLE LAYER, AT LEAST OF HANDS AND BREATHING IN AND BREATHING OUT
SENSE THE TOP LAYER OF SMILE OR NOT SMILE AND FEELING AIR COMING IN AND OUT OF YOUR NOSE AND/OR MOUTH.

That sounds like “too much,” right?
And as you read these words, try to be in awareness of at least one of those layers.
And as you read these words, try to be in awareness of another layer.
And as you read these words, try to be in awareness of the third layer.

This is the miracle.
When you can talk to your mate, or to a stranger and have ANY awareness in ANY of these levels, you will be living, in that moment at a vastly more awake level.
At the level of the children who are our guide back into the kingdom of heaven.

And guess what?
When we move, it’s easier to have awareness in the body in the present.
So let’s give ourselves the present of being present as we move.

And how are we going to do that?
Big surprise: another game.

Game #2.3. MOVE SLOWLY AND EASILY WITH AWARENESS
A. Stand up.
Feel the floor under you and the breathing in your middle and the air coming in and out of your nose/ mouth.

B. Now move:
Raise up onto your toes, so your heels lift from the ground.
Stay there a bit
Come back down
Do this three times.
For the full and easy enjoyment of the movement and your awareness of yourself now alive and moving.

C. ADD ON BREATHING
As you come up onto your toes and raise your heels
Add on BREATHING IN

At the top, heels up a bit and neither raising any more, nor coming back down
Hold your breath a bit and smile

And as you
Come back down so your heels touch the ground
Breathe out
and notice how that feels in your middle layer

Do this three times for the pure enjoyment of up and down with breathing.

D. Now, do this three more times, as you practice awareness shifting from bottom, to middle, to top layer.

First time up and down with breath: notice the bottom layer
Second time up and down with breath: notice the middle layer
Third time up and down with breath: notice the top layer.

E. Walk around a bit.
Notice how you feel more full and alive.

F. Then do D again,
With three additions.
One: Add a smile.
Two: Do this three times of three up and downs. Each time shifting attention from bottom, to middle to top layer.
Three: each time you are going up and down and noticing a layer, say aloud,
“Now I am aware of…”
And state what you are aware of in that layer.

For example:
“Now I am aware of my feet on the floor”
“Now I am aware of my belly in my breathing.”
“Now I am aware of breathing in my nose.”

“Now I am aware of my hip joints”
“Now I am aware of my hands.”
“Not I am aware of my eyes seeing…”

“Now I am aware of my legs resting down onto my feet.”
“Now I am aware of my ribs in my breathing.”
“Now I am aware of …. sounds coming in my ears.”

Needless to say, to do this as you are moving and breathing in coordination to your movement is a full menu.
And:
You deserve it.
Fuck yes, if you want a full life of sex and love and adventure, this ability to be aware, in the moment of your body at three levels is the start of a “raw enlightenment” that is both extremely powerful and extremely useful.
Powerful because it engages so much of your body as a here and now reality.
Useful because you can “do” this meditation in the car and at a meeting and on the phone and talking to your loved one and talking to your enemy and listening to music and walking down the hallways at work or at your home or taking a walk down your street.

Your legs and pelvis and Earth are always there.
Your hands and arms and breathing are always there.
Your breathing in at your nose or mouth and your eyes and ears are always there.

How marvelous to be awake to that now.
Right now.

Right?
