Truth vs a higher grade bullshit

Last night I got to participate in an event that so -called
stretched my limits

Going to bars and asking women this and that
and being rejected 10 times

I'm super glad I did it,
but the best parts,
were waking up to Now
within a scene almost totally asleep

standing in an the noise

and people
and with all the "I have to go this and this" story,
and dropping the story,
coming home
to the non story,
non important
pure reality
me

the me
without image

the me
without accomplishment or
non accomplishing

the alive
one

and alive
is
enough

and just stopping
back to breath
back to gravity
back to sensing feet underneath,
knowing the seeing of what I was seeing
knowing the hearing of what I was hearing

knowing this,
this nowing of me as alive right then
was fabulously more important than
my thoughts and feelings and goals and successes
and failures in the "talk to a woman" game

the game can be played
to learn...
that's good

the game can be played
to wake up...
that's gold

and then when it was over,
walking down the street
sensing each step,
aware of the I AM ALIVE
as now, now, now miracle

I was glad not to have been as lost
as I could have been

This is a brutal truth
folks,
for me and you and you
and even now,
typing this in,
even now,
reading this:

we only have three choices

Low grade asleep
High grade asleep
or Awake

actually, there are thousands of gradations of
sleep
and what passes as most "transformation"
work
is just upping the level
of sleeping functioning

but without the spark of conscious awareness
in the moment
something is lost

and DO NOT take my word for it
live today to
discover the difference in
each and every activity
and
non activity

life is a gift
learning is infinite
awakening is always now

The Joy of 9/11

By the time you finish this little ramble
at least 3000 people will have died on this
beautiful planet from idiotic reasons:

Car crashes,
stupid wars,
starvation because the rich stole the food that was supposed to go to the poor
starvation because the world bank shoved the country into monoculture and the people forgot or weren't allowed to grow their own food
drugs that doctors gave doing the person in
lover's quarrels where the gun is the answer
drug war idiocy

and so on

This human race does dumb things
with its big brain
that gets used to make weapons
and to justify the most common human
fallacy:
The Me Right, You wrong fallacy

And throughout today,
many will be busy saying
the terrorists were wrong
or that George Bush was wrong
or that the whole economic mess of the country is wrong

and you know what:
everyone who wants to be right,
is
and yet,
are they happy?

So let's dance around and wonder:
are we terrorizing ourselves with the idea
that 9/11 shouldn't have happened

are we terrorizing ourselves with the wish
that in this country at least
crazy men with the idea that they can solve
anything by killing a bunch of people all at
once ( Hiroshima anyone? firebombing of Dresden and Tokyo)
should happen

people want to be right
the most idiotic form of this is to go
out and figure that you are so right
you get to kill off a bunch of the Wrong crowd

crazy

and then,
if we want to erase this idiocy
from the world
or from happening in "our" country,
who are we, but mental expungers of the
the Wrong folk
so we wipe the "bad/ dumb/ wrong THEM" out
with our judgment

me right, you wrong
ah, such sweet poison

such a common way to waste our lives

and the unfailing way to be unhappy:
You, the past, should have been different

me right, the past should have been my picture,
you, reality, the past as it was, is WRong

la, la

lots of luck

so, if you don't agree with me,
be happy,
but don't be right,
be amused, confused,
curious:

how could he possibly think that way?

what would it be like if I tried that out for awhile?

And if you can't entertain an "alien" viewpoint,
why get so mad at the terrorists,
who clearly lacked humor and the good graces
to see that not everyone agreed with them

they are just like us
with the extreme of getting to really wipe out
what they don't like
including themselves

imagine how much self hatred goes into terrorism,
forget all the hogwash about 40 virgins in heaven,
these dopes all knew they were going to die,
and that they were destroying themselves

nothing but good old lack of love
for self
others
and the whole big mess
can lead to such drastic acts

and then again as the ramble rumbles
down,
and the 3000 mentioned above are all
dead
and here we are still

what's that about?

it's our moment
this gol dern moment is
our life

how much love and joy
and tolerance of the "wrong" people,
and love for the "wrong" people
can we conjure up

IN THIS MOMENT,
CAUSE IT'S THE ONLY ONE

Freedom is the other side of being a child once

The underbelly of the golden rule

Moshe Feldenkrais talks about:
(In The Potent Self)
if you want to train a bear, first you have to make it dependent; and from there talks a great deal about human childhood’s huge amounts of dependence and how that leads to frightened and constrained living, thinking feeling and moving.

And what does that have to do with the price of beans in Peru?

Everything.

We are meant to be happy, I believe, and this could be right or wrong or just nonsense, or a useful lie. Doesn’t matter, I’ll say it again: we are meant to be happy.

Or saying it another way (I’m a Feldie, if I can do, think, say, feel something at least three ways: I’m not free): the underlying current, if nothing is added on is either peaceful or happy.

Or another: if we are unhappy, or in pain, it’s a grand gift of life to us that we are doing something “wrong,” i.e. we could wake up, shift something and have a “better” life.

Okay: so we are meant to be happy. Dependency is a elusive obvious undercurrent to human development.

Where to go from here?

Enjoy your life and when you don’t, look into dependence being at the root of un-enjoyment. Dependence on an idea, or the way we are using and holding ourselves, dependence on others to make us happy.

And so on

If you’re a Feldie, come up with some variations of this understanding for yourself.

what to do about our sleep

on feldy forum
a long discussion
on the "difficulties" of getting people excited
to come to Feldenkrais lessons

called
" Re: resistance to the Method"
this chain
reaction
is an old familiar one:

we have something amazing
and unique and the
world is not beating down our doors

oh, well:

a few other things
people
seem to have
"resistance" to:

love
(when they don't get what
they want, from the person
they "love" when they get what they want)

awareness of the present moment
minor exceptions:
first kiss,
sex,
first bite of new meal,
maybe

self realization
of the
oh, yeah, I lie, scold, hide,
blah, blah, whatever i criticize,
too

patience
to listen to another
to hang in there with "bad" feelngs
to hang in there with "not knowing"
to be here and not at the next
thing

silence
inner
harder than outer,
neither of much use to many

so,
la,
la
back to Monseur Gurdjieff
and the whole
question of humanity asleep

a big question

bigger even than the Feldenkrais Method
if you can believe anything so vast

and joking aside
the Method
is vast

and the title of this posting:
what to do about our sleep;

our
sleep

look at the s and the p
of the word sleep
notice the difference

notice the breath
coming in
and out
and don't even notice that difference
notice
the difference
that noticing
our breathing makes

sit calmly
and if
you know
the Feldenkrais
method
do six or so
variations
in pelvis, neck, ribs, eyes,
belly back
and be
so happy
at the gift
of knowing
how amazng
this brain body thing is

and then
holy fuck
go try to talk to another person
about this
from a noticing
and awake place
knowing they are asleep
and loving
them anyway
or maybe even
especially
they have such an amazing chance
and probably won't take
it
and we
can
and
can
and
forget
and the
can remember again
